Can you help?

Every year, more than 300,000 children are separated from their parents through imprisonment. You can help to restore a little joy and hope for them this Christmas by donating to Operation Elf, an appeal organised by the national Catholic prison charity, Pact.

Operation Elf provides gift cards for parents in prison to give to their children at Christmas. This allows mums and dads who are prisoners to feel like parents. Children can choose a gift and have a lovely chat with their mum or dad about it. The appeal supports Pact’s work to keep families together.

Pact needs 80 gift cards for Portland and The Verne prisons in the Plymouth diocese.

Andy Keen-Downs, Pact CEO said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for families affected by the imprisonment of a loved-one. By donating to Operation Elf you can make it feel more like Christmas for some of the thousands of children who can’t spend the festive period with their mum or dad. We’ve set ourselves a challenging target but with your support we’re confident we can reach it.”

To find out more information and donate please see the Operation Elf page on the Pact website. If you are able to help, please act quickly as the appeal closes on 30th November.
