Modern slavery is a serious crime being committed across the UK in which victims are exploited for someone else’s gain. It can take many forms including trafficking of people, forced labour and servitude. Victims are often hidden away, may be unable to leave their situation, or may not come forward because of fear or shame.

Caritas Diocese of Plymouth is hosting an event to help us learn how to spot the signs of modern slavery and what we can do about it. We will be hosting a speaker from the Medaille Trust and will have a Q&A with an expert panel including a representative from the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. We will hear about those who are victims of modern slavery in the UK and get practical advice about what to look out for and what we can do if we have concerns.

The event will take place on:

Tuesday 30th April from 10.30am-12.30pm (tea and coffee provided)
Parish Rooms of St Mary’s Poole
211A Wimborne Rd,
Poole, BH15 2EG

All are welcome to Mass at 10.00.

There is ample free parking.
