What started as a warm space has turned into a warm family. Meeting for most Mondays of the year, Welcome Mondays has become the highlight of the social week at Holy Family church, Plymouth. All of the community is invited to join us for a free cuppa and cake and to join in with a range of games and activities. After making so many warming cups of tea, we were not surprised when our old urn gave up and stopped working. This group that is run by volunteers and started with a small grant was unsure of how it would manage.
However, with its great connections in the community and through the kindness of the Wolseley Trust, they were given a grant of £300 to buy new equipment and keep the cuppas flowing. The new urn, in line with our desire to look after the environment, has a special energy saving feature and even comes with its own heat saving jacket, not just for safety but for efficiency too. We would like to say a special Thank you to the Wolseley Trust for their kindness and help to keep this project going.
