It is now ten years since the reorganisation of youth ministry under the vicariate of Evangelisation and seven years since the Synod on Young People, Faith and Vocation. Pope Leo XIV has already emphasised the importance of young people finding “acceptance, listening, and encouragement in their vocational journey” within Catholic communities and having “credible models of generous dedication to God and to their brothers and sisters.”
Fiona Hutchings has been asked to undertake a review of youth ministry in our Diocese of Plymouth. She would welcome views from all those with an interest in this important topic. Fiona said “My sincere hope is that out of this consultation we will be able to draw some conclusions and recommend a broad model which can cover a wide variety of faith filled experiences for young people as they make important life choices. Please pray that the Holy Spirit enables us to be open, brave and wise in this discernment.”
If you would like to share your views, please download a copy of the questionnaire here https://www.plymouth-diocese.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/YM-questions.docx and return to fhutchings@stbonifaces.com
Fiona has asked for responses by 28 June 2025.
