The eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time was far from ordinary for the parish of Sacred Heart and St Ia in St Ives when the President of the United States Joe Biden and his wife Jill arrived to celebrate Mass. Parishioners were delighted and a little stunned as they took their place in the congregation. Parish Priest Canon Philip Dyson said to the President at the end of Mass “I have to rush, I have Mass at 11.00am in Penzance!”

The President and his wife were attending the G7 Summit at nearby Carbis Bay. The Presidential motorcade drove through the narrow streets of St Ives to the amazement of tourists and locals. For more on this story please visit: ITV News
