There are many events coming up across the Diocese of Plymouth in the next few weeks – wonderful opportunities for prayer and reflection:
- The Pilgrim Virgin Statue and Relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco will visit our Cathedral on the weekend of 10-11 May 2025. The programme will start at 10.00 am on the 10th. You can find more details on our website.
- There is special Jubilee Mass for Married Couples on Sunday 11 May at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dorchester at 10.30 am.
- Flores De Mayo – These traditional celebrations from the Philippines will be taking place in Torquay this year on Saturday 10th May. The procession will start at 3.30pm at the Princess Gardens Pavilion with a procession to the Church of the Assumption, Mass at 6pm followed by a cultural show and food. All welcome.
- On Sunday 11th May there is an opportunity for people to come along and meet the Vocations Team who will be at Christ the King University Chaplaincy, Armada Way, Plymouth from 12 noon onwards (12.30 –5pm).
- Evangelisation – the heart of the Church’s Mission: – in the light of the death of Pope Francis, there is a day to explore the nature of this mission and how we can put it into practice in our daily lives. This event will be held at Buckfast Abbey conference centre on Saturday 17th May 10am-3pm. Booking is essential through plymouthcrownhill@prcdtr.org.uk Enquiries: 01752 701660.
- The Feast of St Rita of Cascia – Thursday 22 May Mass at 12.00 noon followed by blessing and Distribution of Roses for the sick at St Rita’s Centre, Honiton, Devon.
- Take a Closer Look – Photo exhibition 20–26 May at Plymouth Cathedral. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si we are pleased to be able to invite you to a photo exhibition at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Boniface, Plymouth. The exhibition will be available to view during Cathedral opening hours. The images have been contributed from parishioners from all five of our deaneries, so come and take a closer look and be inspired at the wonders of our diocese. - Heatree Residential (TQ13 9XE) May 23rd-25th 2025 This popular residential is aimed at young people aged 10 – 12 years old. Young people will explore the Sunday scripture whilst building rafts and climbing the high ropes. It’s a great chance to meet other young Catholics from across the Diocese.
