Safeguarding Training

Safeguarding training is a vital part of helping to create safe worshipping communities.  Any parishioner who takes on a role or ministry within their church that involves working with children, young people or adults at risk must undertake safeguarding training prior to their official appointment.  For more information about the training requirements for each role, please click HERE.

Training can be accessed for free online via EduCare Safeguarding training.  EduCare includes the following training modules:

-Child Exploitation
-Child Protection
-Domestic Abuse: Children and Young People
-Mental Capacity
-Online Safety
-Safeguarding Adults
-Understanding Anxiety
-Understanding Low Mood and Depression
-Understanding Self-harm

To register to access the EduCare training please e-mail safeguarding@prcdtr.org.uk with your name, parish/religious congregation and role e.g. catechist, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist etc.

 

Face to face safeguarding training days are also held throughout the diocese on a regular basis.  Please see our training calendar below:

 

Saturday 9th March 2024 – Level 2 Child and Adult Safeguarding Training (Yelverton)

Saturday 6th April 2024 – Level 2 Child and Adult Safeguarding Training (Poole)

Saturday 20th April 2024 – Level 2 Child and Adult Safeguarding Training (Dorchester)

Saturday 27th April 2024 – Parish Safeguarding Representatives Conference
