Life as a single person

Not everyone is called to any of the above states of life, people remain single for many different reasons – it may be commitment to a member of the family who needs a great deal of support, it may be commitment to a profession or way of life that is demanding, it may be that by being single a person is able to be available to others in all sorts of ways.

Single people – like all Christians – are called to live their calling in love of God and service to their neighbour. There are always many ways in which this is done, and the grace of God is always available to make these lives fruitful and generous. Single people are often able to make a significant contribution to ministry in their local parish – if this applies to you, you may wish to contact your local parish.
