Welcome home to our young pilgrims who have just returned from the Jubilee of Youth which took place in Rome from 28 July-3 August. The group, led by Fr Albert Lawes and Saskia Hogbin, had an amazing time including linking in with pilgrims from other dioceses in England and Wales,  attending a youth vigil with over a million people,  listening to an array of music and talks in different languages and attending Mass in St Peter’s Square and Assisi.

The youth pilgrims were addressed by Pope Leo XIV who told them toi “aspire to great things, to holiness, wherever you are.  Do not settle for less.  You will then see the light of the Gospel growing every day, in you and around you.”  Pope Leo concluded by praying that as they return home, they “continue to walk joyfully in the footsteps of the Savior, and spread your enthusiasm and the witness of your faith to everyone you meet!”

You can hear from some of the amazing young people from our diocese online

Pray that all pilgrims find ways to share the essence of their pilgrimage, and that they will inspire others in their journey of faith.
