EXETER UNIVERSITY CATHOLIC SOCIETY

CathSoc

CathSoc is a Christian society which is open to all students, who share an interest in the Catholic faith, who want to make strong and lasting friendships, and who know how to have fun! Therefore, our motto is faith, friendship and fun which I'm sure you'll find in plentiful supply at CathSoc.

Our H.Q. is at Boniface House (the Catholic Chaplaincy) on Glenthorne Road, which is between Birks Grange and Moberly Halls of Residence. Here you will find: the chapel, the meeting room, which is used for CathSoc social/faith events; and The Shepherd - fully licensed - bar.

Social events have, in the past, included bowling at the GX Superbowl, going down to the Waterfront pub/restaurant for pizza, quiz nights in the bar, a cabaret evening, a film night, parties, barbecues and football with the unbeaten Vatican City F.C.

As regards faith events we organise Taize evenings, speakers on live issues within the catholic faith, Christianity and the world at large, and spiritual retreats. We also plan to have debates and discussions on issues concerning you as a catholic student at Exeter, bible meditations, evening prayer and scriptural rosary.

CathSoc is run for students, by students. All we ask of its members is to enjoy taking part in the events, in preparation and participation, and that they'll be entertained, make friends and grow in the understanding and love of God.
