Overview of Catholic Schools in the Diocese

The Plymouth Diocese stretches from Lands End to Bournemouth and is made up of the beautiful counties of Cornwall, Devon and Dorset. We work in partnership with seven local authorities - Cornwall, Plymouth, Devon, Torbay, Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth.

Within the Diocese are thirty-seven Catholic Voluntary Aided Schools - three first, three combined, twenty-seven primary and four secondary, two of which are Joint Church Schools. Included in these figures are two schools - one primary and one secondary - promoted by religious orders. There are just under 10,000 pupils in our maintained schools. In addition to the above there are currently four Catholic Independent Schools maintained by religious orders or independent trusts.
